Discover what your body can actually do.
1:1 strength training for women in a private studio in Warrington. Beginners are the whole point, and nobody gets bulky by accident.
No 5am starts.
No cutting out carbs.
No one watching you learn.

Just the two of us
One client at a time. My own studio. The full hour is yours.
Strength over shrinking.
Most of us were handed one goal: be smaller. Take up less room. Be good.
I'm not interested in that. I care about what your body can do, carrying the shopping in one trip, getting up a hill, picking up a weight that used to feel ridiculous.
Heavy is where the progress happens. Not scary heavy. Heavy for you, today, with someone next to you who knows what they're doing.
Your body is for experiencing your life. It isn't decoration. ✨

1:1
Every session. Never a group, never shared attention.
Years
Most of my clients have been with me for years, not weeks.
Strength training isn't what you've been told it is.
Almost every woman who walks in here has been put off by something that simply isn't true. So, plainly:
“I'll get bulky.”
You won't, not by accident. Building visible muscle takes years of deliberate effort and a lot of food. What you get first is stronger, steadier and less achy.
“I need to get fit first.”
No. Lifting is the thing that gets you fit. We start at whatever weight is right for you today, which is often a broomstick and a laugh.
“It'll be heavy and horrible.”
Heavy for you, not heavy for a powerlifter. Sets of five, long rests, plenty of talking. Nobody shouts. Nobody counts your reps at you.
“I'll hurt my back.”
Done properly, strength training is one of the best things you can do for a grumpy back, hips and knees. That's why I coach every single set.
“I'm too old, or too new.”
My clients range from their twenties to their sixties. Several had never picked up a barbell before their first session here.
“It's all about losing weight.”
Not here. No weigh-ins, no before-and-afters, no food policing. We measure what you can carry, lift and climb.

I've been the one under the barbell, and on the stage.
I've put myself through the hard, unglamorous bits: learning the lifts, getting coached, being nervous, showing up anyway.
That doesn't mean you need to do any of it. It just means I know what it feels like to start something new in a room full of people who look like they already know what they're doing.

Training is one part of a good life, not the whole thing.
I'm on bikes, up hills, in the sea, at weddings, on a sun lounger with a book. I like a pint. I don't train to earn my dinner.
That's the same standard I hold for you. Strength should make your life bigger, not turn into another thing you're failing at.
A room with a door that shuts.
This is the bit most women tell me sold it. No crowded gym floor. No queueing for a rack. Nobody filming themselves next to you while you learn something new.

Private, properly
It's my studio. When you're in, it's you and me, that's it.
Everything you need
Racks, barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells. Nothing you have to fight for.
Warm and a bit scruffy
Brick, black flooring, mustard slat wall, decent playlist. Not a showroom.
It starts with a chat, not a fitness test.
01
The free consultation call
You tell me what's going on, what you'd like to be able to do, and what's put you off before. We move a bit. No pressure to sign anything.
02
Your first few weeks
We learn the big lifts slowly and properly. You'll leave knowing what you did and why, not wrecked for three days.
03
Then we build
Weight goes up when you're ready. Life gets in the way, we adjust. Nothing collapses because you missed a week.

No trainer on their phone.
You've seen it. Trainer scrolling, counting your reps out of the corner of one eye, three clients on the go at once.
Not here. The hour is yours. I'm watching how you move, changing things mid-set, and remembering what your knee did in February.
Also: I'll laugh with you. Training shouldn't feel like being told off.
Years, not weeks.
No transformation photos here. Just women who kept turning up, and what changed for them.
“I came in convinced I'd break something. Three years later I'm deadlifting more than my body weight and I still can't quite believe it.”

Training with me since 2022
“Robyn never once mentioned my weight. Turns out that's all it took for me to actually stick at something.”
Sarah

“I carried my toddler up Snowdon in October. That's the bit I keep telling people about.”
Nat
Training with me since 2023

Hi, I'm Robyn.
I wrote my Master's dissertation on resistance training and women's identity, which is a long way of saying: I think this stuff is political, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
I'm also training for an Ironman 70.3, having started swimming as a near-total beginner. I have been the worst person in the pool. It was humbling and genuinely brilliant for me as a coach.
Two labradors. A lot of hills. Very few 5am alarms.
